Many activities await you at the base of the mountain! Discover uphill skiing, ride a fatbike in a trail with modules, try skiing for the first time with the Quebec Ski Area Association, try our jumps in the snow park with Team OFR, discover the moguls trail or try out a timedrace with our Freestyle Ski Team and the Mont Orford Ski Teamcoaches.
You can also try new models of skis and snowboards- many different companies will be on-site. Finally, end your day at the Slalom Pub and try several local products for free in a warm and festive atmosphere, led by our DJ! Many surprises await…

DISCOVER UPHILL SKIING – 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.
Starting at 9 A.M. find the Endurance Aventure tent to try uphill skiing! All the equipment (boots, skis, skins) will be lent to you courtesy of our partners Endurance Aventure, Ski Vélo Vincent Renaud and Vivre à fond. Their team and technicians will be on spot to help you to use the equipment properly. In smaller groups, you’ll be guided at specific starting times in a trail specially prepared to learn this sport! (Ascent: Forêt Magique 3 Descent: Pente Douce).

About uphill skiing
Uphill skiing is a unique sport that allows you to climb the mountain with your skis and climbing skins that you put under your skis while using special bindings that release from the heel to allow you to climb. When you’re on top of the mountain, you take off your skins and reattach your binding and go down in the trails as usual!
DISCOVER FATBIKE – 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
Let’s meet up at the Orford tent near a small trail specially prepared for the occasion totry out a Fatbike on the Pente Douce. Technicians and professionals will be there to help you ride these bikes and give you advice!
V• Bikes available for those 12 and older. No children bikes.
First come, first served! No registration necessary.
For those who love mountain biking, this sport is for you! These bikes, known as Fatbikes, are equipped with oversized tires for ideal traction on snowy surfaces.
DISCOVER TELEMARK – 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
You’re a good skier and looking for a new challenge? Telemark is for you! Meet us at the Alfred room inside the chalet to get your equipment. Your boot fitting will take place inside and you’ll be accompanied by a snow school instructor certified in telemark to guide you during your trial!
No registration necessary.
A government ID card will be required to use the equipment.
Telemark skiers use alpine skis with specially designed bindings that attach only to the toe of the ski bootleaving the boot heel free. That way you can bend your knee during your turns.

A courtesy of the Quebec Ski Area Association, the NEVER EVER DAY is dedicated to those 5 years old and up wishing to try skiing or snowboarding for the first time! This initiative takes place throughout North America! Our event is part of those taking place around rest of the continent to offer the largest ski/snowboard lesson in the world! :

DISCOVER COACHED RACING WITH THE SNOW SHCOOL – 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
Do you like the adrenaline you get from racing? Come and ski in the Pente Douce in a Baby Gate race course installed specially for your first race!The snow school instructors will give you advise and techniques on how to improve your skiing.
DISCOVER THE SNOW PARK WITH THE OFR FREESTYLE TEAM
BEGINNERS – 10:00 A.M. TO 12:00 A.M.
You’ve always been curious about the jumps and moves in the snowpark? Discover the Intro Park in the Connection trail with coaches from Team OFR and try out our jumps. You’ll have a short lesson on how to use the jumps, rails and boxes from 10:30 to 11:00 A.M. and get great advice!
INTERMEDIATE & EXPERTS – 1:30 P.M. TO 3:00 P.M.
Calling all experts and big thrill enthusiasts! Come and learn some tricks from Team OFR and get better in the Main Park at the end of the Magog trail. For experts only!
DISCOVER MOGUL TRAILS WITH THE FREESTYLE SKI TEAM – 12:30 to 3:30 P.M.
Mogul trails and jumps techniques intrigue you? Come benefit from the expertise of the Mont Orford Freestyle Ski Team to discover mogul and jumptechniques. Coaches will be waiting for you all day long (location to be confirmed).
SNOWBOARD AND SKI DEMOS – 8:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
Representatives from ROSSIGNOL, VOLKL, BLIZZARD, TECNICA, STOCKLI, RACCOON SKIS and FISHER will be at the mountain all day, as well as BURTON in collaboration with the Illusion BoardShop. They will advise you, answer your questions and let you try new ski and snowboard models!
RACE: VERTICALE RACE IN COLLABORATION WITH ENDURANCE AVENTURE – 4:30 P.M.
Take part in the race and ascend Mont Orford running, uphill skiing or with you snowshoes. The race is untimed, the podium will be determined according to arrivals.
Registrations and instructions:
The race starts at 4:30 P.M. in the Familiale trail and will continue in the 4KM to finish at the summit of Mount Orford.
Podium and prizes at 7:00 P.M. in the Slalom Pub.
Cost $20 online (pre-race) or at the Endurance Aventure tent the day of the event (same price). Visit the Endurance Aventure website for more information.
Registration gives you 1 free drink at the Slalom Pub at the end of your race.
GET WARM WITH VIRGIN HILL AND DONATE TO THE CHRISTIAN VACHON FOUNDATION
All day long, the Virgin Hill roastery will be outside on the Giroux terrace to give you a free coffee! Warm up and take a moment to donate to the Christian Vachon Foundation in exchange for your coffee.
All donations will help children from Memphremagogarea to experience a 9-week ski experience, including equipment rental, the lift tickets and the ski lessons!Mount Orford will match all funds to make this project accessible to even more kids. In 2017-2018, 19 kids from the region will benefit from project!
THE FAMOUS APRÈS-SKI!
Young and old are invited to end their ski day with our famous Après-Ski with DJ Paulee. Many door prizes to be won!
FOR THE YOUNG – From 3:30 P.M.
Volleyball and soccer on snow – 3:30 P.M.
Come meet us near the outside terrace on the Giroux side for a soccer and volleyball game on snow! Snow school instructors will take care of your kids. Also, Fred, our mascot, will be playing with them!
Open to those 5 and older.
Ski boots are forbidden for your safety.
Daycare offered for free – 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
At the end of the day, the daycare will be open and free for kids from 2 and older. Leave your little ones with our certified and dynamic team and enjoy your famous Après-Ski at the Slalom Pub! Spaces are limited, first come, first served!
FOR THE OLDER – From 3:30 P.M.
Enjoy free samples of local products at the Slalom Pub during your Après-Ski!
Tasting: Ungava products – FREE
André Duncan, mixologist and barman in Sherbrooke, will be at the Slalom Pub to let you try cocktails made with Ungava spirits. Hors d’oeuvre made by a local chef will also be available for free, for a perfect food and drink pairing!
