Best wishes for 2010!
The Mont Orford Team wishes all its friends, guests and readers of Gondola Echoes a most wonderful 2010. May you make all the turns you want, in the most fluffiest of snow in the company of those you love. We also wish you happiness and health.
The great Lloyd among us
The famous member of the Quebec Air Force, Lloyd Langlois, 47, a resident and descendant of Magog, is back in his land at Mont Orford. The ex Team Canada Freestyle Skier runs the new contingent of ambassadors at the resort and is our spokesperson. Welcome back Lloyd. Did you know that 12 years after his retirement from the sport, Lloyd Langlois is still the record holder for victories in the World Cup discipline, with 22?
The ambassadors are at your service
Many of you have acknowledged the work and the attentions of our ambassadors since the start of the season. Thank you. We conclude that we have just begun this initiative and have decided to push it a little further. If you love the mountains, have a little free time and have an inclination to obtain several premium Orford benefits, we seek your volunteerism. Contact Louise Faucher quickly lfaucher@orford.com.
Open house at the Orford Performance Ski Club
Want to improve your skills? The Snow School at Mont Orford has what you need. On Saturday, January 2, Performance Ski Club opens its doors for free and gives you a little taste of its workshops for adults. Meet us at the junction to the left of the Hybrid Gondola at 10am. The club then organizes an after-ski slalom at 4pm in the Slalom Pub. Please RSVP at 1-866-673-6731, ext 356, or email ecole@orford.com. The Orford Performance Ski Club Team looks forward to skiing with you!
There are still some places for group classes beginning January 9, 2010 and this, for 8 weeks.
Do not delay to book your instructor for private lessons; availability is selling fast.
The Trolley service resumed ... for free
The Trolley resumed its shuttle service between Magog, some hotels and Mont Orford on December 26. The service is offered during the holidays and all weekends of the ski season. Enjoy it!
Huge success for the food drive
The collecting of non-perishable foods on the 18th, 19th and 20th of December to benefit the Memphremagog Food Bank was a huge success. We managed to exceed last year's amount by about 30% by collecting 1 500 kilos of food and $165. The Director General of the Food Bank, Andre Chartier, and Mont Orford say a big thank you for your generosity. Once again, proponents of the ski area have proven they have their hearts in the right place.
Simon Grenier wins his season pass
All those who have purchased their season pass online before December 7th had the chance to win the repayment thereof. Simon Grenier, of St-Francois Xavier, is the lucky winner of the draw and won his BRONZE 2009-2010 seasons pass. Congratulations!
