The big day![]() If Mother Nature agrees, the start of the 2009-2010 ski and snowboarding season should be celebrated as of 8:30 a.m. on December 11th at the Mont Orford ski centre. Visit our website to confirm the opening date and for snow conditions. Under optimal circumstances, in about forty hours, our snow coverage teams are able to cover, the nearly 2.5 kilometre-long link starting at the top of the Familiale and continuing down the Magog and Jean-Davignon runs on Mont Giroux, with a generous layer of snowflakes. We are optimistic that we will successfully reunite these winning conditions in time. Light a candle, cross your fingers, and use any other incantations you may know of and we?ll see you on the slopes in less than 10 days! By the way, Mont Orford?s summit received 20 centimetres of snow during the night of November 27th to November 28th. It really is coming? |
A great deal at Nordic Station Season pass holders of all categories can go for a dip, from Monday to Friday, by purchasing a membership for Nordic Station at a preferential rate of $129 plus taxes. What could be better, we repeat, what could be better than Nordic Station after a day on the slopes? |
It's Christmas and gift giving season Looking for an original gift idea? The Mont Orford ski centre has what you need. You can, among other things, purchase gift cards worth $20 or more at our customer service counter. They can be used to pay for lift tickets, at the snow school, at the rentals boutique, at the Slalom Pub, at the Bistro, and at the cafeteria. Why not an Orford Plus card? For just $49 thru December 8th, and $59 after this date, the card offers substantial discounts on the price of a daily adult lift ticket. Plus, it includes a certain number of free lift tickets. For students, this card costs $39 thru December 8th and $49 after that. We have one last suggestion, and it is by no means less attractive, a Ski-Spa or Ski-Spa-Fondue package. The first package is sold for $59 plus taxes. It includes a half-day of skiing or snowboarding and a visit to the Nordic Station spa. The second package includes the pleasures of the first package with, as an added luxury, a three-course fondue meal at the Fondissimo restaurant. Who could ask for more? Packages may be purchased at each of the three partners and may be ?consumed? separately. |
Three cheers for season passes Mont Orford season pass holders get their money's worth, that's our claim. Not only do they enjoy access to their favourite mountain, they also benefit from several privileges in many businesses and establishments in the Magog area. Among these privileges are four half price adult lift tickets for guests of Gold season pass holders, free First Tracks access for these pass holders throughout the season, and a series of interesting discounts at most mountains which are, like Mont Orford, members of the Quebec Ski Area Association. The list of benefits is much too long for this newsletter, visit our www.orford.com website. The information can be found under Rates & services/Season passes/Benefits to shareholders. Gondola echoes are willing to bet that the numerous surprises in store for season pass holders are beyond anything you could imagine. |
The Olympic flame and our Inukshuk ![]() Don't miss the Olympic flame in the streets of Magog as of 8:10 a.m. on Sunday, December 6th. Runners will first be seen on Sherbrooke Street, then Main Street which leads up to Parc des Braves. Here, a series of activities will be held until the clock strikes 11:00 a.m. With the same spirit and to celebrate this Canadian Winter Olympic year, the Mont Orford ski centre officially unveiled its Olympic Inukshuk last Tuesday. The structure is located near the ticket booth and it states our message loud and clear: Good luck to our Vancouver 2010 Canadian athletes! |
